GoPayment is now linked to QuickBooks POS

Intuit has integrated QuickBooks Point of Sale with GoPayment free credit card mobile payment app. This is in direct competition to Square, and it's iPad register.

Finally the 200,000 customers who use QuickBooks POS hardware and software have an easy way to combine a traditional POS experience with a mobile payment service. Plus, new business owners who need a remote selling option and want to use QuickBooks software will be jumping onto the POS bandwagon.

QuickBooks POS starts at $1,499 for the pro version, the minimum version worth buying. With hardware, the pro version costs $1,899. The pro multi-store software sells for $1,799 and $2,299 with hardware. Square will obviously continue to do very well, but it doesn't integrate with QuickBooks yet. Plus, Intuit has an advantage with POS being a more robust solution for bigger merchants with more transactions.

First you setup QuickBooks software, and get that working. Then you setup POS and mark each inventory item you want to sync to the GoPayment iPhone app. You use your iPhone to take payments anywhere you're not connected to a cash register, or computer, such as trade shows or events. At day's end, you sync the sales back to POS for accurate inventory counts, and then sync the financial data back into QuickBooks software for sales receipts & deposits. Your sales receipts determine sales tax liability, and income figures on the P&L Report. Overall, Intuit has provided an excellent solution to managing inventory and financials.

QuickBooks POS (Point of Sale) Certificate

QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor - QuickBooks Point of Sale CertificationI’m honored to have just earned my POS (Point of Sale) Certification from Intuit. QB POS (Point of Sale) is QuickBooks cash register software, with enhanced inventory management.

As a accountant, I am excited to continue my strong relationship with Intuit in the QuickBooks ProAdvisor program. For you, my new certification means I’ve achieved a level of competence recognized by Intuit that demonstrates my knowledge of Intuit's Point of Sale. With this knowledge, I will be able to help you assess whether Point of Sale software and hardware will better meet your business needs, and provide you with productivity-boosting training filled with all the tips I’ve just learned.

For QuickBooks, I receive diamond level access to tech support. That dies with Point of Sale. I get the same support that you get, and it sucks. Luckily, I'm great at researching hard problems, so I've been able to solve all the questions I've gotten so far. And I've made an alliance with a very high level POS provider so that if someone asks me to do a job that is outside my current skill set, I can refer them to his company.

If you’re interested in finding out more about whether Intuit's POS can better serve your business’s needs or anything about QuickBooks Online, then please reach out and give me a call.

Plant a Tree

I joke that the small business owner needs to print out paperwork. Rather than attempt to have a paperless office, plant a tree. One way I support planting trees is by contributing to the The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation.

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is a nonprofit charity dedicated to planting 18 billion edible, fruitful trees and plants to benefit the environment and all its inhabitants. Our primary goal is to plant trees that yield edible fruits, nuts, leaves, or roots—thus spreading life-sustaining ecological diversity throughout the world. While our ultimate vision is one of overall ecological harmony, incorporating a great number of elements for a self-sustaining world, we chose to name ourselves “The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation” to ensure that as our efforts continue, with the help of those who join us, we will be united in the goal to heal the planet and nourish future generations by planting fruit trees. 18 billion (with a "b") is quite a few trees, but the world is depleted now, so many more fruit trees are needed. We believe in thinking big and loving even more.
